If I'm correct, the "rest after the Chunin Exam" task came with a mission, didn't it? If I'm correct--and it's been a while, the mission should be to get to either Level 26, or 36.

After you've finished getting to that level, you'll be able to advance in the story. Buckle up--you'll see a good many quests like that very soon.
