If you don't have Animal Pain, or any other Akatsuki members for that matter, preferably Pains, she is kind of useless.

Since Konan can shield any Akatsuki members, any of them, including the pains, would work.

But realistically speaking, it's best to have her paired up with Animal Pain for obvious reasons.
