Beat 90 today, so hopefully I can be of some healp. For me RNG was defnitely needed, at least for blocking in the first round b/c of my level (74).
But stategy wise... Apologies on the roughness because I'm doing this after the fact, and after sweeping the next few levels which were thankfully much easier.
Turn One: I decided to Neji mystery into Kisame first turn, and Kankuro is set up to lock down Sasori using neurotoxin in my standard combo.
Turn Two: I continued to focus Sasori with Shark Bomb to prevent him from summoning puppets, while everyone attacked into Kisame to stack poisons. Obviously an RNG crit on the Shark Bomb in this turn stunning Kisame or more would be ideal.
Turn Three: Used Kankuro mystery on Sasori to lock down/kill for the last time. Kisame dropped around this time too. I believe I lost Neji around this point, but the good news is that Kankuro puppet tanks Itachi attacks pretty well.
Turn Four: Shark Bomb on Deidara and clean up. (Hopefully)
All in all this was actually easier than 85 for me too. Hope this helps and good luck to you all.

Thanks! This seems to be the way, and even tho I havent done it yet (Im trying atm), Ill make a few remarks:
First, it HAS to be GNW kankuro, his puppet has 1k more hp than regular Kank, which wont tank Itachi most of the times.
Second, and the main reason I havent done it yet, Neji has to dodge at least one of the 1st round attacks (and I dont know about yours guys, but my Neji doesnt dodge for *)
Next, if you dont get a crit on Kisame with your Sharkbomb, I'd reset unless either your Neji is full HP or you trust in his dodges.
I've been on the edge of winning a few times, if it wasnt for Itachi and his sick dodges
