Ignore defense and resistance for now. Just focus on Ninjutsu *ion, Taijutsu *ion, Ninjutsu, and Attack first. This game isn't about defense. You want the strongest possible offense to break through enemy healers, tanks, and eliminate damage from the field. Combos and Mystery powers mostly do Ninjutsu dmg so that's your primary concern when stats and inserts are concerned.
