Generally you should always aim to use the newest miniclient. If you're having issue the first thing to try is this:

1. Clear the game cache (cog icon in the top right > clear up system)

2. Flush the DNS cache (open 'command prompt' on the PC and type `ipconfig /flushdns` and hit enter)

3. Reboot the PC (to be extra sure, reboot the modem / router too)

If those steps don't work this is what I've found is most common:
- Live outside the region you play in (ie, live in America, play UK servers): use a VPN for stronger connection to the game servers (unrelated to your internet connection as a whole)
- General poor connection to servers and you live in the region you play: use client version 2.3 or 2.4

- Certain loading threshold points (14%, 55%, 99%) are poor connection to server (again, not internet connection)
