Hello,
I'm sorry you are encountering these issues.
Assist ninja cards do not work in arena modes, that is why you are not seeing it function. This is by design to keep the modes more fair.
As for substitution jutsu, what issues are you encountering with it? I have tested it repeatedly and can find no issues with it.
