This is a known issue, but has unfortunately not been fixed yet. There are a few workarounds to it, however. If you minimize the window before the mystery goes off or use the Boss key (F9), it can prevent the game from crashing. Hopefully this bug is fixed in the near future. Sorry for the inconvenience!
