Not a bug. You get 20 weekly attempts or 5 for every 4 days. So if you do 5 for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then you cannot do it on Friday, Saturday, and sunday.

You still have the friendship attempts. Go do it with your friends that have a friendship of lvl 5 +.
