Chase missions happen on the weekend (so 2 days a week). You pick one of the two ninjas and get the reward ninja frags from the one you picked. The "get both rewards" comment was referring to when the rewards are ninja frags + some other stuff, in which case you get both the frags and the stuff pictured with it.
