Midnight Blade is definitely the most popular character in this game, and has been since day 1. This is because he just looks cool and he is a lightning user which appeals to lots of people including myself.
First off Midnight blade is very good overall and uses ninjutsu and taijutsu. his HP is very good, I think it's above average for the game so he can take some good hits.

His chases and abilities are good but the best one i think is the Chidori Sharp Spear. It chases a hight float which his last attack (also his best attack) causes the high float state. The final normal taijutsu attack is the Assassin Blade and it attacks the weakest opponent on the battlefield. This is very strong with the bloodthirsty ability which attacks twice and attacks again if you take out an opponent with the attack. So for instance if you take out a clone you atack again to attack the other clone etc.

For his passive abilities I only use Anbu Special Tactics which leeches life off of your opponent and increases taijutsu damage when the main character is in play. The next I use is Bloodthirsty Demon since it's just too good to pass up. The Clone is good but bloodthirsty is by far better.

For early game I'd reccomend using the Lightning sword chase and beam of light attack. in the early game you're gonna be weak and not have many ninjas at your disposal but you should at least have Kakashi Sakura and Sasuke to use for one of your first bread and *er teams.

Good partners and summons for Midnight blade would definitely be Kakashi, Neji, The Legendary Sannin, Sasuke, Sakura, Tenten and Gaara. For summons I generally * to the Water Shark, White Snake and Kamatari. Depending on your team you can switch the summon around of course depending on what you need.

A strategy I recently discovered just by playing is you c*e a summon that causes repulse with Lai Giri Decapitation which chases a repulse and causes a knockdown. If you have Neji or Tobi or even Jiraiya if you have him to chase the knockdown. It works pretty well for combos depending on what you need but is somewhat inconsistent. I only usually use it to make my team composition better if the team isn't the best together.

A team that I usesd for a few high levels and works very well is Midnight Blade with Lai Giri Decapitation and White Snake Summoning Jutsu, Great Ninja War Neji, 3 star Sasuke and Kakashi. You c*e regular 2 star Neji if you dont have the Ninja War version. The team's combos work well for each other and you can't really go wrong with this team. Very strong overall but lacks strong defences. Neji and the main character rely on sponging all the hits but that's alright since his HP is high.


Another team I used for much longer consists of Midnight Blade with Chidori Sharp spear and Water shark, Kakashi, Kurenai and Tenten/Sakura. This team got me pretty far in the game for a while. The combos are outstanding and damage output is good. The only thing the team is missing is a medic. that heals beter than Kurenai. If you want to use Sakura instead of Tenten go for it. They're interchangable.
This last team I will make is exclusively for this forum post. I'm creating it right now and I'm trying to take into account that you might not have all the characters I have, so what I will do is only use characters that you will definitely unlock just by beating plot and elite missions so you can definitely use this team.


It took me about 10 minutes to figure this team out. It looks kinda good but I have had bad luck with Asuma even though he's one of my favorite ninjas. Sai and Midnight Blade are good tanks so they go in the front but the back lineup is weak and will take a lot of damage if they get hit, so another option is to use a medic if you really need it.
