It is part of the Team Instances. Each time you enter Team Instances, you will have a chance of meeting Elite Ninjas after the regular Team Instance and defeating those Elite Ninjas will grant you additional rewards at the end of the battle. If I remembering it correctly, you will find this info on the Team Instances Interface at the top right window of it, the *on beside the X. Thank you.
