Kakuzu was always on top, then fell down a bit and up again. You can simply push him up to the top of the meta, by bringing out other great support ninjas.

Kakuzu is certainly more complicated to play then edo minato. His interrupt needs to be timed well and if your opponent actually knows when the friames start and end it is gonna be very hard. With Edo Minato, if you can go first, and can combine his mystery chase with chakra drainage, you are good.
