Late night kakuzu arena

It's currently 10:30 at night, and arena is impossible. Simply put, it's like limbo. I'd win one and feel good about myself, and then I'd lose two and feel crap. What really kicks me in the nuts is the fact that kakuzu is dominating, and almost every time I lose, it's to kakuzu. Since I don't really play this game as seriously, my arena team is a f2p shizuka team and I have no good counters to kakuzus or sosp narutos. I seem to remember back when I used to go tryhard mode, there'd be a time period where the whales are not participating the arena, and I'd take full advantage of that time. Is there a general time when you guys take advantage of in the arena, or am I just weird?

Sadly, that is the designed mechanics of ranked arena. Which causes more and more people to not bother with ranked arena. Which makes the problem even worse. If I was designing it, then:

Loss vs lower points = -1

Loss vs higher points = 0

win vs lower points = +1

win vs higher points = +2

consecutive wins = extra +1

consecutive losses = extra +1

There's also another reason why people stop caring about it: the useless rewards.
