If i remembering it correctly, it is Top 128 in Points Ranking for you to be able to fight .. About your question, it is possible that you made a progress and gained points the day before the opening of Season 40 .. Anyways, congrats for being part of this Season 40, good luck :))

it's top 128, and not in physical ranking but in points ranking. and people top 121-130 gain the same amount of points everyday at 22:00 sv time. So if you're top 130, you still have a chance to be randomly picked for top 128 points ranking.
