There is something called Safe mode, or something similar in windowws. I know youre using mac, so if they have this you could try that. What Running in safe mode does is rever the pc back to a previous date, similar to a time machine.

Otherwise, you could take it in to a computer shop. A small mom and pop shop with someone who knows what they're doing. They may be able to get the files back fo you for a price. You should call in and see if someone could do it.

You may be wondering, why a mom and pop shop? places like geek squad might be able to do it, but often times they rip people off. Or just staight up lie. You take a laptop in to get the keyboard replaced cuz you dropped some waater on it, they tell you the whole thing's broken and you should just let them "recycle" it, and just buy yourself a whole nother laptop.
