Hm, alright then. I was just trying to think of something else for Crimson since granting temporary hp/shields is pretty much the same as healing, but with different limitations. It would allow a character's HP to exceed their max total (including Midnight Blade) but at the cost of being non-stackable. So if say the shields were worth 5 hp, someone took 3 hp, and then Crimson renewed the shields, it would just be reset to 5 hp instead of being 8.
