1＃ Go ToI just got GNW Kankuro, who I always wanted ever since I saw him.
However, it has been a while, and my team consists of all 4-stars and 5-stars. .
He's at 2-stars. . . .
I do want to use him . .but is it OK to? :/
My Hell Dog summon can go well with Hinata and GNW Kankuro.
Low float -> Repulse.
Hinata chases repulse into knockdown
Kankuro chases knockdown into low float
Hell Dog goes for the low float a second time and turns it into another repulse
Oh yeah! :P

GNW Kankuro's Mystery is all that matters. You're crazy not to run him unless you're completely P2W and have better AOEs like Tendo, Sage Mode Jiraiya, and Sage Mode Naruto. If you don't have those 3 in Ranked, you likely c*e GNW Kankuro. Stars will not change whether or not you slaughter your opponent or not.

From my perspective, GNW Kankuro is used mainly for its added DOT damage. Poison+Ignition can more than makeup for any loss attack power by not having him upgraded since those effects cause unavoidable damage. Also the 2 aoe debufs that can be hard to remove unless your enemy has Sakura or water main(but with your combo you should be able to stop the healer while in the process of using GNW Kankuro's mystery) . He literally does everything normal kankuro does plus more. I have a 4 star Kankuro and I dropped him immediately after getting the GNW version. My suggestion would be to focus on life moods to keep him alive since he is is going to be missing higher star stat. Once you get more fragments to upgrade GNW reroll your moods as you want. It is as Hanzo Black says, above my post.
He is far more superior to normal Kankuro because of this and can take quite a bit of damage before he goes down.
So to really just sum it up. Yes. It is a great idea to be using him.
(The Combos with him just makes it all even more better btw.)

I would NOT use a 2 star.
When going versus the AI in survival for example the computer will focus him and HARD because it sees he is the weakest. And those %15 stats etc become a bigger deal the higher level you are. For example %15 isnt much when your ninjutsu is say 100...but when its 4000?
Avoid it. -
