Which state of Itachi we talking about here? When he is sick or when he is under kabuto control? Or when he break free from Kabuto.

If both of them are in Edo Tensei state, physical damage is useless so Itachi will win here because he has Totsuka Blade while 3rd Raikage don't have any powerful sealing jutsu in his arsenal.

If both of them are not in Edo Tensei then you need to pick which state Itachi are in because Itachi only has 2 stages beside his Edo Tensei : His anbu state after he deleted his clan and his sicked state when he fought Sasuke. You can easily see that both of Itachi's states are pretty young compare to 3rd Raikage's prime state. While we don't know anything about 3rd Raikage at any state beside his prime. It's not fair to compare Itachi to 3rd Raikage because we don't know how strong Itachi in his prime if he is not sick. So ofc a young shinobi like Itachi if encounter 3rd Raikage in his prime will lost.

What?? no itachi was not sick which is what made his edo tensei form so formidable, because he wasn't coughing up blood each time he uses a jutsu. Good point. I should have stated that in the beginning. If they were to engage in their edo tensei form, it would really be a stalemate with itachi having a really low chance of hitting the raikage with the totsuka. Like I keep saying with the others, itachi has never shown a feat that can prove he could swing the blade fast enough to hit someone as fast as the third raikage (he might be able to but I go by what is seen in the manga and anime). But I do agree that if the battle rages on for too long then itachi might eventually get lucky and hit the raikage with the blade, in which case he wins.

During his prime, itachi was shown to be able to toy around with orochimaru, fend off yagura in his perfect jinchuriki form, and beat kisame in a sparring match (filler only). While the third raikage battled with the eight tales, and also battled with thousands of shinobi for three days straight before finally collapsing from exhaustion. Even in their alive forms, itachi wouldn't be able to do much to the raikage because compared to his edo tensei form, which had unlimited chakra, he had his sickness to hinder him when he was alive and wouldn't be able to maintain the susanoo for too long while the raikage is an absolute monster with enough chakra to keep fighting for three days without rest. Either the raikage blitzes him before he can even ponder using the susanoo or the raikage outlasts him.

You keep saying that Naruto was holding back when he fought Itachi. Then its fair to say that itachi was holding back too, and we know he was since when Naruto and Itachi fough before, Itachi put a crow in him,the one with Shisui's eye.At that moment Itachi decided to be on his side because he knew he'll bring sasuke back on a good path. Naruto didnt know Itachi's powers so giving that Itachi could easily surprise Naruto with Susanoo. Besides that while Naruto was struggling with the crow Itachi could easily attack him and defeat him.

Also if we still compare Sasuke and 4th and Itachi and 3rd let's compare Itachi and Naruto with any of them. 3rd and 4th are faster than Naruto and if Itachi can handle 3rd and he can i`m sure he can handle Naruto too. Yes, Naruto in KM is stronger than in normal state, but he cant possibly defeat Itachi. Id say that at best Naruto have a chance to defeat Itachi while in 6 Paths Mode.

He was sick when he died so I assumed his Edo Tensei form was also weakened. Regardless of that, all Edo Tensei forms are weaker versions of the ninjas when they were alive, just that they have more durability and chakra in Edo Tensei.

I already stated he was able to dodge KCM Naruto, but I will give you one more feat you seem to forget. He was able to create a Susanoo and deflect Kirin, thus he is considered faster than lightning, since Kirin is supposed to be literal Lightning in the anime.

This is why Itachi can beat anyone in the series:

1. Totsuka Blade can absorb and imprison something in another dimension with just one touch, it can be used for both attack and defense. For example, Totsuka blade can absorb Madara's meteors, can absorb his entire Susanoo along with him.

2. Yata Mirror can block anything (defense)

3. Susanoo (another form that gives him extra attack and defense), the Susanoo is chakra so he can move as fast with it than without it

4. Now for speed, he was able to create the Susanoo before Kirin hit him (lightning). He also dodged Kurama Naruto which was able to dodge Ay Fourth Raikage. We don't know much about his speed since he was the only character in the series who was stated to be able to beat anyone without even moving. He could actually be the fastest character in the series, how do you know he's not?

5. Totsuka Blade and Yata Mirror are clearly Hax abilities, but then he also has a special type of Sharingan which is able to do the Tsukuyomi, Susanoo, Amaterasu, Izanami and Izanagi. Tsukuyomi is the second greatest genjutsu in the series after Shisui's. He also has Shisui's eye in the crow.

6. If Itachi is trolling, all the other characters in the anime would only hit themselves or his crow clones.

What are you talking about. Itachi didn't have the option to "hold back" in the fight because he was being controlled by kabuto. He didn't want to fight naruto but had no choice because kabuto wanted him to. When kabuto gave the order to attack, the best that itachi could do was to shout warnings at naruto about what he was going to use to attack next. And we're talking about speed here. I'm saying itachi has neither the capability nor ability to dodge a full speed assault from the third raikage.

And you're saying the only version of naruto that can beat itachi is six paths mode? Are you forgetting about kcm2 cloak naruto? kcm 1 is already on par if not superior to itachi going by feats alone. Naruto, when using the full speed of his kcm, was faster than the 3rd raikage but even he admits that it's pointless since his attacks can't damage the raikage.

1. No. Totsuka blade can't seal inorganic material. Only organic ones like humans or animals. It is not going to absorb madara's meteors I don't even know where you got that from.

2. Yata mirror is not omni-directional. It can only defend in one direction at once. If he gets hit with anything like a tailed beast bomb or like the aforementioned meteor, he is going to die.

3. Faster than anyone? Have you seen minato? Or KCM 2 naruto? You put too much confidence in itachi's speed when the best thing he has shown is a higher level of body flicker. Please, do show me where you got the statement that he can beat anyone by standing still.

4. He only used crow clones early on in shippuden. In the war arc, where most of the characters are above lightning speed, he doesn't use them anymore since it won't even work anymore. It's a subtle use of substitution jutsu that uses crows. It relies on speed. There's a reason why he isn't shown using it anymore in the war arc and that's because anyone who is fast enough isn't going to fall for it.

He didn't dodge kirin, he blocked it just in time to not let himself be killed. Go rewatch that episode and you can see that although he was still alive, he took substantial damage from blocking it since the area that kirin covered is larger than the yata mirror can cover. Also, a lot of the characters are FASTER than lightning. Kakashi is faster than lightning, sasuke is faster, the raikage is definitely faster than lightning.

Itachi wasnt in the mindless state (the state with the white eyes) when he attacked Naruto. When Kabuto ordered him to attack he didnt said how, so Itachi was able to fight him like he was training with a friend. If Itachi wasnt holding back he would`ve going all out with every justsu he had. Also he even helped Naruto by telling him where the attacks will come from.

As for the capability to dodge 3rd attack he doesnt need too. He`s not a speed type like 3rd or 4th. Instead he has the greatest defensive ability in the whole Narutoverse, Yata Mirror. Why would he dodge something that he can easily stop.

Literally, there are lots of other characters that can be mentioned to beat the raikage but all focus is on itachi. And lots of opinions and head canon are being used instead of actual feats. my god, you just literaly rephrased what I just said. That. Is. My. Point. Itachi didn't want to win. He wanted naruto to win. And although you could argue he was holding back, it isn't really by much since he still has no control over his movements. If he did, he would have just stopped moving to let naruto hit him.

I am trying to say that the raikage can move around fast enough to get behind the susanoo and pierce it from thereeeeeeeee. The raikage would hit the mirror once and realize it's impenetrable and would just adjust his strategy to move behind itachi and strike.

1. It can seal anyone it touches, it can't be blocked since it's a spirit weapon. Even if it doesn't seal inorganic material it still turns it to liquid for a while, it just spills out of the gourd and eventually turns back to what it was, but is not a danger anymore. Then again, you might argue the Kusanagi Blade was spilled because it was also a special type weapon. Everything else was absorbed when he fought Orochimaru.

2. Yata mirror actually deflects any attack, if he used Yata mirror against kirin, it would be thrown back at Sasuke. Itachi didn't want that so he tanked the hit with the Susanoo. So the Susanoo alone is a great defense.

3. Even if he is not the fastest, he is one of the fastest. And we never got the chance to see him at full speed. That statement was somewhere in the manga, along the lines that he's the only ninja who can just sit calmly somewhere and finish any battle. Don't remember the exact words, and can't seem to find the image anymore.

Well you clearly downplayed Itachi in the original post.

As i said before Susanoo acts like a shield. He covers the entire body of the users even his back. I simply dont believe that Raikage would pierce Susanoo in a second and kill Itachi. Itachi is a genius and he doenst need hours to react, just a second.

I.m not saying that Raikage isnt strong, his jutsu is indeed a great one, but facing Itachi it would be useless since we are not talking just about pure strenght but about strategy too.

Lol the original poster thought the raikage could just get behind itachi and pierce his susanoo and kill him. While Itachi is not doing anything. Even so, at best it could only crack the susanoo, or his finger going inside the susanoo a little bit, not enough to reach itachi.

Well, Minato vs Raikage. Minato is named Yellow Flash for a reason, he was able to kill 1000 shinobi alone and as we could see in the anime he could easily surpass 4th in speed at a certain moment. Somehow he managed to even get the KM while dead.In my opinion in normal state Raikage may be able to get Minato but in Edo Tensei state i dont think he stands a chance.
