No point in hard freezing any more. You can soft freeze and still do pretty well though. Just avoid the high exp stuff you don't need. It's pretty easy to max out sun/moon without doing too much heavy exp stuff. My alt is lvl96 with 156k. I just skip things like 9 tails, wanted missions, ninja test, heavy instance sweeps unless needed, etc. I do all the other events and usually max out by friday.
