A major flaw that I've come to accept in this game and it hasn't really been brought up or addressed very much if at all is the amount of time you are given to counter an opponents mystery. Simply put the base or fair amount of time given to do anything when you see your opponents unit use a mystery is about 3 seconds, this is more than enough time to counter and react properly.

However, a majority of the time when you are specifically waiting to bait out an opponents mystery so you can interrupt it you have to wait until the prompt comes up but you are pretty much given about 0.5 milliseconds to react properly, or it just happens instantly. This is a major problem that I have with the game and it brings out a lot of frustration when you were ready and waiting for the time but you can't react as fast as a robot.

Ex: You have a Jonin Minato (Bond Mystery) and Susano'o Kakashi so you can interrupt dodge ninjas. Your opponent has a 6p Naruto and you want to wait till you see them use the mystery to properly interrupt it so you wait on round 2 to see if they use the mystery. Low and behold they activate the mystery after a standard attack (Minato) but you can't counter in time because it happens instantly or you have 0.5 milliseconds to counter. Now you are at major disadvantage and while you may still be able to win, it is very unlikely as you have taken a lot of damage, your main character is immobile your minato cannot mystery reset since he already did his standard and the 6P just got his mystery reset. You get the picture

I bring this up because apparently in Naruto Mobile, I have a friend that plays the game and they tell me the counter and react times for mysteries are much more fair and balanced and are usually easy to react to within that 3 second margin, never less.

Let me know what you guys think and if you have encountered this specific problem. I do not think there is an easy fix for this if any at all but there as to be.

I thought that is intentional in order to make this game for challenging. My theory is that this system allows other players to stand a chance against certain metas (like the Sus. Kakashi meta like in your example) and also makes the characters that have an instant mystery that much stronger. There are for example certain mysteries that are less reliable and have a longer startup time thanks to the action that comes before that mystery (like Gakido's mystery for example) which allows the opponent to have more time to react to your movements. For example if you want to clear your pos 1 ninja of Acupuncture and Immoble with Gakido, he first has to remove one layer of debuffs on your team and THEN c*e his mystery. You c*so wait until your Gakido does his standard which he has to remove one layer of debuffs for and right before he does his standard you pull out your mystery. In that case your opponent can't react because now your mystery was instant. What your opponent can do though is acupuncture you right after you removed one layer of debuffs. This is just one example out of many how this system can make the battles more interesting. In your example you are actually forced to do your mystery at the start of round 2, otherwise you can't reset with standard. I used to rage about this quick reaction system as well until I realized how much depth it added to the overall battle strategy. It used to be a problem back when delay was still a thing (which is still sorta is if you are suffering from massive lag).

You bring up good examples and thank you for replying to my post but I do not believe it is intentional. As my example is pretty specific I have encountered it multiple times and have found that sometimes I have those 3 seconds to react properly and others I do not. So I do not believe it is an intention that some mysteries are instant while others aren't. If i'm being completely honest I believe this has to do with connectivity or the server at fault, while I can confidently say that my wifi has never been an issue the servers on the other hand can be a major nuisances at time telling me orochimaru has attacked me when I know my wifi/internet did not go out at all. Or my opponent has a slightly laggy connection of some sort and for them their mystery wasn't instant but for me it was because the data of their wifi sending it to the server was delayed in some way. But who knows, while I can appreciate your answer of thinking that the system has been set up in such a way by Tencent/Oasis which is true to a degree, I would not give them THAT much credit.

Yes big problem when my hokage minato gets interupted easy because he do the random tag and for that its easier to interupt.

however sometime if you wait for an interupt with iruka you could try to auto battle that can do the job for you. so you wait for the opponent mistery and isntead of clicking your mistery click on auto combat.

This was partially solved with 5.0 (before was WAY WAY WAY worse) but still not 100%.

Most of the issues are server side because this game is scripted for china where 90% of the players have the same latency and the same cable infrastructure.

The problem appears here 3 times as big because we have not that situation, overall for xserver features.

To solve this they should actually script the battle mechanics in a way that when you or your enemy select a mystery the whole battle freezes until the opponent client side sends an input that says he received the icon popped up. Right now this is not how the system is scripted and is not scripted this way because if for any reason a client lag the battle may freeze even for 50/60 seconds per mystery per round.

This is so annoyng when you faster, but you cannot interrupt the skill, because the icon of this skill appears less than for 1 second.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking Scarett and you are absolutely right, the situation was much worse pre-5.0 but still is an issue. and as Mitokiri simply stated you basically get about 0.5 seconds or 6 miliseconds to react to interrupt your opponent, even if you are faster, which we all know is not humanly possible.

you're not being given 6 ms out of nowhere to interrupt your opponent though. you should be aware of what mysteries he has played, what he will play, who he might be aiming for with the mystery and when he will try to take you unaware to cast it. you should have clicked your target and left your finger on the key. if you outplay and outpredict him, you will have more than enough time to react. it's not impossible lol

also, where's the fun in the game if you dont know how to take some losses lol

In my opinion,to be fair the game should give us more time to react to other's mystery. I always try to bait out other mystery but it goes so fast that I cant even stop it.
