The event has very specific wording

RULES

1. Use Orbs of Vitality to contribute to either the Namikaze Side or the Uchiha Side;

2. When the event ends, players who have more than 750 Contributions will obtain Advanced Refine Rune*10;

3. In the last day of the event, players can only claim rewards, and are unable to further participate in the event! Don't miss out!

Note the bolded section.

As noted above, the rewards they are referring to redeeming are the 10 adv refines and that's it. Poor wording to be sure, but this issue has still been addressed here in forums almost every single time the event has rolled around. I strongly spending your event pts (whatever the event maybe) on weds to always be safe, as that is the standard and almost universal ending time for events.
