So out of all comments asking where is great plates, skill trials etc etc you decided to answer a player that is asking if the outfit is free? Really?

Probably because they know that answering that question won't get flooded with angry responses. If the official reason of the issues of great plates, skill books, etc. Is what people are going to expect, then another wave of rage would come.

they get backlash either way so it really doesnt matter which questions they address, people have valid points, when they arent even honest with the community.

Well if you are trying to reduce the amount of rage, it seems like not telling their intentions is safer.
