To get monthly rewards for a certain rank on arena- you need to reach rank of 6 paths at least once. After that- every month you will be getting rewards listed for a rank you will get in that month.
So, if you never get to 6 paths before and now let's say you are at Special Jonin- you will get just lowest rewards from listed not the one for your current rank.
Good luck with getting to 6 paths next month!
That is not the way I read it.
It seems to me that once you reach 6 paths you will receive the reward for 6 paths every month but until then you receive the rewards for the highest level you have reached so far.
"Once you get to Six Paths Sennin Rank for the first time, you will not get any more rewards for advancing ranks since this is the highest rank..."
Therefore I call BUG!
Correction after further review in game:
After conferring with a group member and perusing the reward pop-up in arena and I now understand the system BUT the e-mail is misleading when compared with the pop-up. Note to devs, please edit the text in the e-mail so it does concur with the pop-up to avoid further instances such as this. In other words MAKE IT * PROOF!

Once again- this is not a bug.
There are 2 types of rewards from arena:
- 1st is advancing reward- when you get to certain rank there for first time- you will get rewards for it as soon as you manage to get enough points- it's one time reward- and this is mentioned in mail from arena too;
- 2nd are season rewards- given on first day of month- those rewards depends on getting rank of 6 paths- like I already said: you need to get 6 paths at least once to get rewards listed for a certain rank.
EXAMPLE:
Player is playing in October on arena- he didn't manage to get to rank of 6 paths but stopped at Kage. On first day of November he will get rewards for lowest arena rank.
Why not for Kage rank? Because he never reached 6 paths there before.
Now, in November he work hard and get to 6 paths. 1st day of next month he will get rewards for 6 paths rank. And now in next month he will get rewards for the rank he will finish at- if it will be kage- he will get those for Kage. If 6 paths- he will get those for 6 paths.

I agree it is not a bug. What it is is a misunderstanding due to the wording of the E-MAIL. It does not match the pop-up in the arena screen. This should be corrected so as to avoid these misunderstandings in the future.
