Only one barrier's bonuses apply at a time, so it's not really worth it to run two barrier ninjas in one team purely for the sake of their barriers.

Something a decent number of players do, especially amongst the f2p crowd is run one passive barrier and one manual barrier, that way if you lose out on initiative and your opponent gets their passive barrier up, you can still use your manual barrier to take it back.
