The hard truth is that the game can't do that. I.E. in my bracket, having a 200+k would mean having a SWB with 8 people at most - 3 if you count only those who join everyday. 90% of the common players met during swb is composed by player who have 100-150k power.
As i have already suggested in a few other posts, what should be done is to give us a reason to hunt down winstreaks. As egoistical as it sound, i want my 20 refines and it's not worth to waste time to end WS, so i rarely target them before the last 5 minutes...
How many of you get actual high win streaks in Sage world & kill others with win streaks? You actually get bountys for killing Win Streakers, this isn't a new concept.
High powers already attack mid powers for their win streaks, this ACTUALLY happens all the time.
I'm a mid power, I get anywhere between 2nd & 5th, depending on who is placed in my side(field), in fact I've gotten first if the high powers are put in to another team, which enforces the fact that you're not really competing against other teams but against the people on your own side- I know roughly where I'm going to land on the scoreboard ba
If you truly believe other 200ks will risk their streak to go after another 200k, you really don't do Sage at all- I mean it happens, but when you're trying to WIN top 3 then you avoid bad odds, that's just how you game the game, the system doesn't incentives you to risk that much, your goal is top 3 in your field, not knocking other top 3s down to risk your own top 3 status.
You guys are trying to fix the wrong thing, you're going after everyone above you as if "They are the problem" & I don't understand why, perhaps it's a fixation on being at the top.
The problem lies with how rewards are distributed because that's what incentiveses people racing to destroy lower powers & the psychological aspect that has on everyone playing the event, you either distribute the rewards fairly for participation & field victory or you narrowly focus on making it harder for the person above you thus effectively creating another problem.
Look at it this way, if it was field vs field & you all got a reward for winning as a field there would be a bigger incentive for people go shut down other fields, it would impact how people played the event across the board, sure people would also go after low power still- you can't create a system that avoids this, but at least you could potentially run after players your own power as there would an inventive to do so & there'd also be more players going after win streakers to get their field victory & at the end of it all, if your field won you can at least say "I did my part", rather than "I'll never be top 3, nerf top 3".
This idea that a problem will fix a problem is gnawing at me, why do you want to f*k over the person above you so hard? It just creates a worse experience for them & eventually if you're there a worse experience for you & solves no issue, it's like you see a problem but don't understand what is creating it but attempt to fix it anyway.
Besides the event is a lot more rewarding than it used to be anyway- I'm not really bothered if it changes & chances are it wont but it's not a terrible event, reward wise, even if you aren't getting top places, because the Sun Scrolls you get for just participating are good enough for 5-7 Advanced Refines by itself- & I'm talking about actual participation, it gives you more coins the more you run around and actively participate.

What you are suggesting is basically giving free goodies to afkers. There is a reason if the winning field reward has been so bad since 1.0 and it's to fight against people who just "partecipate", instead of actively playing.
Anyway, remember that nothing will change in SWB. This event is made specifically for higher powers to bully lower powers. If you want a balanced battleground, you'll need to wait for Shilian tomorrow, where after a few wins you are forcefully pulled away from the lower powers, to battle against the "stronger" players.
