  • I'm actually curious what the logic was behind their decision.

Again, it's virtual product so it's not like "giving away" most things even actually costs them money. I actually think the event woulda encouraged slightly more spending and made them more money... even if it was a mistake.

Unless they thought these deals woulda helped create an unhealthy game environment somehow and hurt the game in that way (which I REALLY don't think was the motive behind their actions).... then I'm just failing to see how this solution could have even been seen as a good idea.

Mistakes happen and the programmer that might be fired would actually have a lot less questions from me than the executive-type that decided it was a good idea to 'fix' the mistake like this, tbh.

Granted, I hope I've put a lot less thought into this than they have and may just not know any better.

Lost revenue is lost revenue, regardless of how much it costs to create the product. Some people might have been thinking of buying those packs in the sage treasure where they cost 3k, but now they wont buy them because they got them for free. Or spending 20K on Madara, but now they got him for only 10k.

Imagine you're selling a digital only computer game that costs say $25 to download it. You put it on sale for 10% off, but you f'ed up and actually put it on sale for 100% off by mistake. Do you lose money on the download even though it doesn't cost you anything to actually send it? Do you not have the right to correct that mistake? A player might be unhappy that their friend got the game for free and he doesn't, but does that mean you are obligated to give him a free copy of the game too?

While I agree that the cheaper event will encourage more spending, if they f'ed up, they f'ed up.

In terms of player balance, they only fair option is to reset the events to how they were this morning, but I doubt they will do it.

  • Your comparison is terrible, they're not selling a singular product- not to mention they didn't give anything for free, there was still a price attached too it.

You can't say "Oh they lost sales, because it was cheaper" when in fact people may have never have bought it in the first place, now bought it because it was cheaper- it's the same fallacious bs people make with piracy in general.

You can't lose a sale when there was never a sale to begin with & adding hypothetical's in there doesn't make it any less true.

Read his previous post, when you give something out to a broad number of players at a certain cost, then take it away you cheapen the experience of the whole game for everyone else, now you have half a player base that feels cheated..

I didn't say it was fair, i was just responding to the thought that Oasis didn't lose anything by miss pricing the goods. Sure a lot of people might have jumped on the cheap price that wouldn't have done so normally. That doesn't mean that a lot of people that would have been willing to spend the higher price didn't also get stuff for cheap. If it wasn't affecting oasis in the wallet they would have just left it alone.

However as i said at the end of my post, the only fair thing to do is set the events back to how they started.

  • The thing is, from this event ninja's should be cheaper, and here is why......you get ZERO items for purchasing a ninja from this event. Just the frags... Full price with no extras....this change makes this event worthless for buying ninjas. WAY better off waiting for something like mission box event and getting 18k worth of items, extra ninjas, and plus the one you bought the points for. Seriously, all these people complaining about the price being lower aren't thinking even a little bit. They spent 18k and got tons of items which increased their power on top of the 5k madara....Frankly 10k for only frags and nothing else is pretty fair IMHO.... seriously....use your brain for 1 second...18k worth of mission boxes is a BOAT load of items, random ninja drops aside....18k worth of sakura foodpacks? Yea zero items....not a single one..... I'm super bitter about this nonsensical change.

I don't get this? Was he even in a rebate, i know there was a fuko rebate the same week, but it had Hinata in it not 5kage? I only remember him in the wheel of fortune? Wheel of fortune isn't like lucky board or missions where you get items AND points, in lucky wheel you get items OR points.

Yes you get frags, seal scrolls and summons scrolls on the wheel, but when you get those items you don't get points to spend in the shop. The more other stuff you get the more he costs.

I'm not salty, i got him. I got most of my frags in the wheel so he cost me more than 10k, but at least i got him. I just don't understand the "what about all the other stuff you got" argument. He hasn't been available on lucky board, or missions yet.
