If you are trying to 4/5* konan/temari, then yes, the tree is worth it; it's a lot cheaper to get their frags off this tree than other events when you are getting to lvl 6+ tree.

But since its the last day, it's kinda too late to get started due to the daily frag cap. If you want to go all in at the tree, you want to do so early, so that you can redeem everything you want in a single event. (Leveling up the tree is pretty bad, but the rebate is amazing once you get to lvl 6+.
