  • We have Oasis not Tencent. Outside china, it is Oasis.

Oasis publishes it in the west, I think it's Tencent or a subsidiary that owns the IP.
Oasis might even be owned by Tencent, don't know.

  • No they are different companies.

They just need English version or whatever, therefore Oasis bought Tencent's equity.

It's the same as League of Legends, owns by Riot, US and Tencent bought LoL right for Chinese version.

Oh my, have to rewrite because apparently adding a link to a wikipedia page is the downfall to all that is holy.

Blah blah(something I wrote), they didn't buy equity in Tencent, Oasis bought a license to publish Naruto Online( but specifically Naruto Online, no other Naruto content) in the west, I don't know who owns the rights to Naruto Online- maybe it's Tecent but the rights to create a game based on Naruto is still bought from the owner of Naruto & it's the same with the rights to use assets, it's the reason why we didn't get certain character outfits & they had to be changed because the rights to those assets don't fall under Naruto Online.

Tencent didn't buy any rights, they out right OWN riot, and thus own League of Legends. Riot is a subsidiary of Tencent- my guess was that Oasis also was a subsidiary but I don't think that's true.
