This is exactly why it wouldn't work.

Awakenings, Cultivations, and Equipment levels would all be messed up through this. Along with Ninja levels.

The only way for this to work to it's best possibility is if everything would be lowered, and you got back everything you used, materials, coins, and runes. It'd be very complicated and most games don't have de-levelling.
