I will never understand why ppl use hinata!
im playinh with Neji from lv 30 to 53 (now)
and i have perfect combo and really inmortal lineup

People use Hinata because she soaks up auto attack damage in round 1 and every 2 rounds after that, and can cause acupuncture within a combo.

Neji taught really only is most efficient during round one after that its basically no taunt to protect any of your characters that are only healers or who aren't tanks to soak the damage.

neji is really good for teams that rely on keeping momentum since he:
A.has hinata's mystery for free round 1 and can acupuncutre(not sure about the spelling there) turn 1
B.by placing him in the first row you can contest the first mystery(people who use naruto for example usually place him in a position for him to be the first one to attack)
hinata on the other hand shines in longer fights and is more of a stall ninja
