A quick thread to cover differences between non-prompt and prompt mysteries for the new players out there mostly
Now, what is a prompt mystery? It's a mystery that is used right away when you click it (unless lag issues) and unless the enemy has more initiative than you or at different position to make him faster.
You can recognize whether a mystery is prompt or non-prompt by simple looking at the desc
As you probably noticed the first picture has [Prompt] written after the mystery name, and second one doesn't have anything written which means it's a non-prompt.
Non-prompt mystery is a mystery which will replace your ninja standard attack (which means it's not used right away but waits for the ninja turn to do his standard attack and replaces it with the mystery)
There are obvious negative sides to non-prompt mysteries and those are:
-You lose out on the standard attack
-Enemy much more likely to interrupt you
-Enemy might even kill you thru standard attacks before it's the ninja turn to use it
Of course prompt mysteries are superior but not everything can be prompt.
Mostly manual barrier ninjas use non-prompt mysteries currently , with some good ninja exceptions such as Anbu Kakashi , Hanzo, Nagato.
I love the inserted "(unless lag issues)"
Cause my god does that happen a lot.
Also I recommend changing the color of your [Yellow Prompt] with a darker shade as it hurts the eyes on white.
There isn't a darker shade :/ but I'll try to change it a bit
More on the topic of "lag issues" - even your prompt might get the bad treatment if done too late.
Example - you have a chakra generator in pos4 (LM with "Clear mind", Mabui, etc.). They do their generating move and you technically have enough chakra to use another mystery in this round. Well, you literally have a split second to queue it after you get the chakra. Else, for some unknown reason, it gets treated as if you used it in the next round, effectively wasting whatever chakra you just generated and using the chakra cost from the next round. Which means all of a sudden you just used 20 chakra in r2 and your Shisui is very, very sad now :( And you are probably very dead xD
There are 2 "workarounds" for this, both pretty unreliable:
1) Press "Auto" before that chakra generation happens. That way the AI will automatically use the chakra for an available mystery in the correct round. However, it's "Auto", so expect it to be... well, "Auto" xD
2) Literally, spam the hell out of that mystery *on. That way you ensure the correct target, but you run the risk of wasting chakra as described above.
Something similar c*so happen to non-prompt mysteries if you wait too long before activating it. Let's say you have Anbu Kakashi in pos2 and both your pos 1 and pos 2 win initiative. Your pos 1 attacks, their pos 1 attacks, here comes Kakashi, you are sure you pressed that *on before he even moved and... it's a basic attack. And now he just stands there like an idiot with that telegraphed Raikiri charging xD From personal experience, sometimes even when pressing a non-prompt a whole position before it should happen, you can get rekt by the lag. So use them with great caution.
so now anbu kakashi are useless ??
No, absolutely not. As pointed out already, he protects himself from targetted interruptions + it hits like a truck + it has 2 aoe debuffs on it + has the potential to start a combo. It's just not as easy to use as prompt mysteries are.
Any ninjas with a battlefield cooldown "0" mystery which starts a chase are always non-prompt. (with the exception of combo hit chase starters like GNW 1010)
Having a ninja with prompt on round one that causes chase, would be broken.
I'm sure most people already know by now, but non-prompt manual barriers often lead to prompt nukes. So if say Sasuke's barrier casting is queued after he has already launched his standard attack, he'll use his chakra cost this round, cast the barrier for free next round, and use the rest of next round's chakra to immediately launch his prompt nuke.
Very useful for Rescue Jinchuriki where guys like Tendo and Roshi can wreck your barrier.
just ask: i heard that u should use gaara (normal version)'s mystery before end of turn then do sand hell next turn (if have enough cp)
is that true? how does it work?
You c*e the sand hell right after the barrier mystery , they can be used in same round if you have enough chakra
