Yes, special bond abilities are unlocked only if you have the required ninjas. I.e. you need either edo hashira or normal hashirama to make edo tobirama cast his barrier.

Jonin Minato with the bonds skill is sick. I am so glad I got Minato, Obito and kid Kakashi. :D

I also didn't realise how strong swimsuit Temari is. She is used in one of those fights, really high damage and very tanky.
