@Tobei, I would only mood +Def if you run prompt healing/shield mysteries to essentially stop blitz teams killing your roshi by r2 mystery, or even r1.

*There are also some ninja standards/skill sets that "the skill is not subject to the opponent's defensive skills" rendering a higher DEF less useful than HP in this case

Otherwise in most of scenarios +HP works safely with Roshi. HP scales the best with most ninjas, you get the most out of that 65%.

I would only mood Roshi to +Nin if my BP is among the top 0.1% of players (or top few in your space-time cluster) when 99% of your PVP fights are against players a chunk of BP lower than you. You mood Roshi on +HP/DEF to the point where it unkillable vs the worse blitz scenario. When you can achieve that, you can mood Roshi to whatever you want to.

Bit off topic but i'm speaking from experience still using blitz with Light Main (41k BP main) in version 4.0, and very easily managing PVP events (i.e. top in Sage field, 5 win streak in Mats, 90% win rate in Bonds, Space top 2-8). There's only 1 player's Roshi in my PVP cluster that I can't beat due to his +60k team BP over mine. Other Roshi's at similar BP or even 10-20k higher team BP are no trouble to blitz. Perhaps also because Roshi is earth element weak to light.

That's pretty much where I stand.

With Earth Main as an example, +Def Mooded Roshi would survive (30-40% HP)

So you're right.

I'd say, even if you are using earth main, you are still better off running HP mood (and sitting in a +HP tactics tile). Almost all relevant threats to roshi use tai/nin mixed attacks or pure nin attacks, rendering +def a lot less effective. Even with earth main, if you mooded HP, your roshi would come out with more hp left in most cases. If your roshi dies, he died to nin dmg or tai/nin mixed dmg. Pure tai damage would not kill him without a massive pow gap even without extra def.

--------------------

If you really desperately want def, go sit in a +def tactics tile, and still run hp mood. That get you more hp and def th*ing def mood on a hp tile for roshi.

I run him with +life - resistance, since resistance is one of the two worst growth stats of him (other being defense)

I may be totally wrong, but I rely a lot on his mysterys dmg so I didnt want to reduce attack.

Also since he is immune to most effects I thought that -resistance doesnt matter that much, and even with that -res my Roshi still has about 900 more resistance than defense.

  • You're adding a scenario to fit your argument point.

    It's either HP or Defense.

If you're centered on the HP tile, Defense is better suited for Roshi (imo)

If not, HP could easily slot in as well. As for the extra stuff, it's all for show

i'm 91k power, my roshi's mood is 45%

this is if i mood +hp:

roshi1

(+hp/-atk)

this is if i mood him +def:

roshi2

(+def/-res in this case).

Are 1400 hp vs around 800 defense.

Those 800 defense give me 0 if i face full ninjutsu enemies and give me half the effect if i face half nin/half tai enemies.

Why should i mood him +def?

I would personally go +hp -res and put him on +hp spot on tactics , since he has scaling defense passive and he is immune to debuffs and ignition and poison won't work on him that's why I would go -res . Just a personal opinion though. I wouldn't go -att since his mystery and standard stack of attack.

None did it because all the major treats to roshi are full ninjutsu or half nin/half tai effects. If you mood -res your roshi get owned by a gaara or by an ay 3rd of a player even 10k less powered than you if he owns initiative.

Remember that roshi usually gets unwillingly hit by standard attacks that generally aren't that strong except rare cases, but if gets target directly is by full nin or half nin/half tai mysteries.

^+1, +HP/-Atk all the way. Roshi's also one of those ninjas you want to invest a bit in and 65% it. It'll pay off in the long run I can vouch for it.

He's already weak against pure nin, especially vs Mei, where she deals heavily on nin and plus her passive to male ninja.

She can destroy Roshi if she has CP round 2 and reset 3 with wind main.

Normal Gaara can destroy him also, as if he has barrier up.
