How about you postpone 4.0 for another six months and finish completing the 2.0 and 3.0 stuff you never added and put mood scrolls back in the group wheel.

Well X server GNW is effectively still 3.0 it was advertised as part of 3.0 so what they advertised isnt really proper 4.0 so dont worry.

Give them a break, yes they have some things that they need to work on but when they get it right we should show them some appreciation.
