Main characters aren't immune to it. (Without special abilities, but even then, they can still be affected.)
Minato (Kage) can/ use his mystery on the tagged Main to deal the needed interruption. And Jonin doesn't rely on tag.

sed on the anime NO ONE in under any cir*stances can avoid Minatos Tag, even after death and even after all those years Obito(Tobi) was still tagged, obviously having people tagged from last battle you had with them would be dumb broken, but i dont think im asking for too much if I'm asking for it to just pierce that immunity. -

In the anime kisame is can turn a desert into a huge lake and can easily handle the jinchurikis even roshi, Itachis amaterasu can't be removed by healing justsu and Iruka is a scrub when it comes to combat, but in the game it's the opposite because all these characters are on the edge of becoming over-powered (No one would even consider buying ninjas like angel konan and ninjas like roshi if itachis Amaterasu causes permanent ignition and minatos tags can pierce immunity)
I'm not asking to make him EXACTLY like in the anime, as i noted it would be overpowered and comparable to your examples as well, i just think that he is a bit of underpowered at this stage because immunity has become such a common thing.

You are right about minato tag, the point is that the debuff effect that's implemented in the game and that many ninjas apply is not minato tag, but just another thing that simply have the same name. (Where in the anime minato tag reduced defense and resistance?)
You are also right about the game mechanics not being specific to Minato, and also in theory being tagged by Minato reduces your defense and makes you vulnerable to his attacks but for balance measures i guess that immune ninja should neglect the -def and - res from tag while still being able to apply that tag debuff so it will be possible to trigger Minatos Mystery to its full potential.

Lets make it simple.. Anime, makes that skills of tags and whatever for the purpose of entertaining its audience, adding more action and dramas which is not controlled by the viewers. Game, makes the skill and effects of the skills ba
sed on the balance of each ninjas because Game is also mode or type of entertainment but it is controlled by the one who is playing it, so tactics and formations is a strategy and logic for battling others.. That's why please, dont overcomparing Anime and Games :D (overcomparing, is that word exist? sorry for my bad english, hahahaha xD)
I'ts funny that you mention "balance" while we are talking about ninjas like Roshi.
