Since Hidan's signature mechanic revolves around Tag, you should try to find other characters who use Tag.

An easy-to-obtain example character would be Suigetsu. Alternatively you could go for Konan or Chikushodo.

Hidan has a really scary concept, but I honestly still am not 100% sure how to use him either.
