I think a change from 'convoy and plunder' will never happen unless it's copied from any more advanced version of this game since basically, correct me if I'm wrong, I think that oasis doesn't work at redefining codes ingame without basing through the advanced ones, but well, I feel slightly bad aswell about f2p players who wants to get stronger and play longer getting not much of given care through them given that the game prioritizes payed and relatively stronger players.

tl;dr

it's a sad and a given fact that features like 'convoy and plunder' provides better satisfaction to those who dedicated more time (and money!) to the game, but we can't do anything but to let it out so we can relieve ourself from the pressure :)

And you're always free to start again from a new server and do it all over again (including the part that you lose at plunder everyday from more dedicated players lol)
