Try using 3 star Kankuro and Gaara. You will want AoE skills to take him down faster.

I believe that I managed to beat him by using Guy to interrupt his puppet summoning Mystery. Or something similar, like Neji. If you can interrupt or acupuncture Sasori, he cannot use his skill to summon more puppets, which means you can take him down easier.
