You can team up, you are supposed to team up.

Also, they scale with your level, so if you are a 43k lv 40, you just might be able to solo them. But if you are a 43k lv 95 (not that I think that's possible), that's just *.

Don't really have time to team up unless we all wait at respawn I guess. Good to know. I got them to half health on my own though.

Since you can't team up in summon interface anyway (suspected to be a bug) what you (and your group mate) should do is that as your fight is about to end (reaching 10 round on the summon etc), just refresh the game. This will put you outside and out of harm(ambush)'s way. Then you can team up and then enter the summon as a team to kill them.
