Hello.
Yes, you can receive advanced threads from Strong Approaching. However, is it really rare.
Please, show us screens with timestamps of:
- your inventory before obtaining advanced thread,
- screen with you obtaining thread,
- your inventory just after you obtained it.
Familiar taste of poison, isn't it?
It doesn't neccessarily has to be your own account on normal server, any account from your 'test server' will work.

my group has over 100 members on s2, over 50 do sa every week on expert, we haven't seen any advanced threads yet. right now that really rare you mentioned feels more like impossible, can we get a % figure on the drop rate?

I fully agree, it's not possible that none of us ever got an advanced thread, never.
On my server (merged recently) noone took it, and we all do the highest difficulty level, all 7 tries (including the group one) every week. This is not a rare chance, it's a bug.
We have better chance to draw top rare ninja with a single scroll on treasures.

Up. So, does exist this 'proof'?
As daiske stated previously, It's implemented into the game.
It's an extreme case drop, meaning it can happen, but the likelihood of it happening is low.
Turning it into a witch hunt for proof isn't gonna help as we're only replying with the information we get.
