I'm not gonna expect you to change everything by tomorrow. Most likely we are stuck with these events this week, but that doesn't mean that this year's anniversary has to be a bust.

Take all this feedback to heart. Players post suggestions about how they can make it better, mods take those suggestions to the devs. This week may be gone, but next week can be saved. Who is to say that next week can't be Anniversary Week 2.
