Hello! Figured I'd start a thread on this. The new Moods feature is a cool little thing. Any ninja can have a Mood, which decreases one stat by 5% and increases another by 5%. For example, my water OC has Thrilled, which increases her Ninjutsu at the cost of her Attack, which she doesn't use much anyway. This is off of base stats - when you hit Character, hover over the numbers to see the math of base plus Bonuses.

The cool thing is that you can increase your Mood Level! Meat* to get a mood are 10 coupons each, and to increase a Mood a level is essentially 30 coupons the first five times each - which each level gives no additional penalty, but a BENEFIT of 4% each time instead! So for 150 coupons (or buying the ten-pack for 135), I'm at +25% Ninjutsu and -5% Attack. But +25%? At level 59 for me, that's an extra 200-300 points!

So everyone! Post your questions below, or what your favorite Mood and Character combination is! I also have a Wrathful Hinata, with a penalty to health but a strong bonus to attack.

  • I was wondering what the best mood would be. What do I want the -5% on? I know I want the buff on ninjutsu, but idk what the best place for the debuff is.
Hmm. Well, let's see. Scarlet Blaze hardly uses Attack, and usually never really uses Defense because they have Tanks. Midnight Bladesvary I believe, but seeing as they're squishy anyway, a small hit to Defense, or even 100 less HP at my level wouldn't hurt.

Breeze Dancers are tricky too, but I think you could get away with less HP for them. Crimson Fists aren't really Ninjutsu specialists so I don't think you're that. XD
Honestly? Look for the stat you're worst in. That minimizes the disadvantage, and you can easily * Magatamas in that area to compensate. Mostly though, you have to be prepared to use a few meat* to get a favorable mood. The good news is that if you decide to change your mood later, your Mood Levels stay constant, meaning you could hit that big benefit into Attack if you decide to go Taijutsu. I even keep seeing references to saving preferred moods, which would be excellent if I could switch people to an advantage against the Nine-Tailed Fox and then switch them back later.

Don't worry too much though! It's not a big loss to any stat, although it will be a bit bigger of a disadvantage as your numbers get higher - but that benefit of 25% is SUPER HIGH at the same time. If I was level 70, taking a 5% hit to Life might amout to 150 out of 3000 base. However, if my Ninjutsu is 1800? That's an extra 450 power! All my heals would be that much stronger!

Just experiment! ^_^

  • What does Calm do? Nothing, I assume? So do Il have to use some meat* to change that or what? o_o

Also, to increase a mood level, we have to use those scrolls or whatever, correct? So they cost 30 coupons per scroll in the shop?

My main question resides in where you said "the first five times each - which each level gives no additional penalty, but a BENEFIT of 4% each time instead."

So the first time I upgrade a mood, I'll get +5% in a stat and -5% in a stat.
Then four times after that, every time I upgrade my mood, I'll get +4% in a state and -0% in the other stat.

I'm assuming on the 6th time, I'll get +4/5% whatever in the stat and another -5% in the other stat? And it repeats?
Okay so. Calm is no stat changes. The first time you get a mood, you see a +5% and a -5%.

After this, you can upgrade Mood Level. Level 2 is -5% and +9% overall, then +13% for 3, all the way to +25% at 6. Each of the levels until six takes two of the special scrolls, which are 15 Coupons each, meaning it costs 30 coupons to upgrade each level until 6.

As far as I see, level 7 requires ten of the scrolls, and just brings me to a -5% and a +29% overall. It's basically diminishing returns for the value, but that's to be expected! Your penalty never increases, but your benefit does.

  • Oh. I see. Interesting.
    I've been hoarding coupons non-stop, so I have somewhere around 1,600 as a F2P.
I've heard that, for future events, we'll need lots of coupons. So I've become really stingy on how I use them now. . LOL.

Are they going to host events where we can get those scrolls for free in the near future, or are they going to be extremely rare (like, on seal scrolls level rare) and become coupon-only, pretty much?

I'm actually tempted to spend the 150 coupons or something to get that +25%. . . .

I'm also using Azure Fang. . .so +Ninjutsu and -Attack?
+Ninjutsu and -Attack is actually the most efficient one. The scrolls are just small things in the shop - however, if you check the Shop tab and go to Restricted, there's a pack for 135 that saves you 15 coupons. As well as that, there's a super awesome Scroll deal if you ever wanted to spend on Tendo or such. However, the scrolls for updating mood are Coupon-only at the moment, I believe. That may change with a future event!

Otherwise there's the Tool packs if you can get lucky and get either the book or a gourd.

Wow, Life is important? I guess you are kinda squishy as a Blaze, XD. I'd think Resistance is more important, personally, so you don't get wrecked by targeted Ninjutsu.

I uh. I'm that person that uses targeted Ninjutsu a lot. XD

  • Yeah I'm kind of squishy, but I am a bit of a nuke. Even though I'm basically free to play (I've only spent $3), I was able to beat guys a couple levels ahead of me until I hit the "barriers" (level 45 in the arena and level 50+ summons in other instances). I'm not fully sure what resistance does fully. I assumed it would give a chance for debuffs to not effect you, but I'm not completely sure.
Resistance protects you against Ninjutsu.

Because those are the moods you started with. The stats matter over names.

Noobity: Yup! Defense is Taijutsu, Resistance is Ninjutsu. Most targeted attacks have Ninjutsu so. Also, yeah, just buff your Main's for now, and if you have a lot of meat*, try them on someone like Guy who's great for any Ranked team(top or bottom).

106: The boost is forever!

  • Thanks,max level on mood is 10?
I actually don't know, to be honest. I haven't decided it's worth it yet to try advancing my mood beyond 6 because of the costs. This would be better as a mod question.
