Some of you guys may know what a "Nuzlocke Challenge" is. It's when someone decides to *e up their game of Pokémon by adding extra rules and guidelines for them to follow.

So, I thought... why not try making something similar with this game?

And as such, the "Naruto Online Plot Challenge" was born.

At its core, the challenge is a simple way to up the difficulty of the first 50 or so levels that people often just speed through like nothing. The key rule here is this: for the first 50 levels, only upgrade the star level of a ninja if it aligns with the story.

This means no upgrading any of the Konoha 12, besides Naruto and Sasuke, to 2-stars until you get to Shippuden, which is at level 50. For Sasuke, he should be upgraded to 2 stars once the "Sasuke Retrieval Arc" begins (on the instance "Choji's Determination").

As for Naruto, you have two choices: upgrade him to 2 stars after completing the instance "Rasengan", or upgrade him to 2 stars immediately, but never use his Mystery until you pass the instance "Rasengan".

That's all there is to it. Of course, if you want, you can add some of the "extra" rules for an added twist.

Extra Rules:
- On the instance "Choji's Determination", you must use Choji on your team. Same goes with Neji in "Neji's Crisis", Kiba and Kankuro in "Battle Ukon Sakon", Temari and Shikamaru in "Tayuya's Interception", and Gaara and Rock Lee in "Kimimaro Appears" and "The Final Battle".
- You may not proceed in the Plot Instance past level 50 if you do not have all of the Konoha 12 at least at 2 stars, and Kankuro, Temari, Naruto, and Sasuke at at least 3 stars.
- Try *ing exactly to the plot. When playing a certain scene, only use the characters that appeared in the anime. Is your next instance "Unarmed"? Try using only Sasuke and Naruto for that one.
- If a character dies in the story, such as Haku, Zabuza, Asuma et cetera, you can never use them again after you complete the Plot Instance where they die.
- Alternatively, if one of your ninja is killed in battle, they are considered dead and you can never use them again. The obvious exceptions include characters like Hidan, Orochimaru, the Edo Tensei characters etc.
