I never used Tobi pre-nerf. I was just fine with Ukon Sakon.

Without a doubt without Tobi nerf, firemains would be a whole lot scarier than he is now. Wonder how it would do now against blitz and mabui etc. teams now tho.

Well maybe Tobi would be a great counter to these healer aka immortal teams that are around at the moment. But i still agree with you, Tobi was overpowered.

To me the greatest thing about the tobi nerf was that it showed that Oasis was putting a little effort into their game. I thought more buffs and nerfs were coming to improve the game, but it was just a cover. Besides big jumps like version changes we dont get anything

I really think they beat him down a little too much. Tobi and the fire main were both OP at the time but I wish they did not nerf his dodge + mystery. Revive was a little too strong and his chase damage + fire mains damage increase to units suffering from ignite was crazy.

I can still win against strong player with Tobi.

That was around the time when Fire and Earth Mains were the bane of existence. Oh, how times have changed.

Yeap, I remember running GNW Kank, Tobi, Kimi and Fire main. It was enough then to even withstand top players, poison, ignite, CC, and a good tank all in one combination. It's a little bit like the current Mei teams, very frustrating to fight against.

It wasn't even just Fire main that Tobi was op with.

Pre-Tobi nerf, I ran Earth main with Pose of Duel, Konan, Tobi, Danzo.

I made sure Konan did her chase before Tobi because Tag = lowers resistance. Tobi's chase would easily do 7k crits against people with same power as me.

Tobi + earth main was the thing

Literally every team was using him, so yes, he deserved a nerf.

I think he had his time in the meta and spotlight as many other ninjas have.

Oasis does not actively balance the game, they just let players run the meta teams against each other which naturally eliminates seemingly "OP" ninjas.

The nerf was a hand me down from China, as he was he was very potent, the instant revive mechanism was probably deemed a design mistake at some point. Current Tobi isn't useless but he's certainly not the old Tobi, he starts multi hit combos on t1 and his chase can hurt a lot with buff support.

I think with him becoming "free" it was a good move to make him less potent regardless.

I still see very very few players still use current Tobi. Fought against 1 in Matsuri last week.

He literally 1 shot my Sailor thanks to his ignite. Pretty sure that guy (fire main) poured every buffs and everything in front row. I was surprised that his chase did insane damage.

Good old time he was the first Ninja I rushed to get him 5 stars, pair him with Jigokudo, bromance.

but one of the things that really broke him wasn't himself, but Fire main's genjutsu mirror passive. Pre-nerfed mirror buffed damage on ignited enemies. . . there ya go.

1.0 Tobi was never as toxic as Mei, Sailor Sakura, GNW 1010 or Midnight Blade.

But kids were upset they cant CHIDORI BLADE SHADOW and OSOI to easy wins all the time.
