And I believe they're saying Yagura is NOT a kenjutsu user. Kenjutsu refers to usage of blades / swords, which a staff does not fall under. Similar to how nunchaku (had to google how to spell this - which is the weapon wielded by guy) is a weapon, but not a blade.
