I don't have Sage Naruto yet, so I haven't actually tested this team out yet. However, I have spent a lot of time thinking about whether it would work. In theory, it sounds like a fun team to run.

PEOPLE YOU NEED: Sage Naruto (of course)

Killer Bee

Ukon/Sakon (I don't think it's possible not to have them at this point. I got them at least three times this week during survival trial.)

Hell Dog

Anywho, here's a few different possibilities for the lineup:

All you need to do is use "Yo" on Ukon/Sakon. Everything else is at your discretion. Simple enough, right?

So what're the talents?

Honestly, for the Mystery and the Standard, almost anything will work for this team. But here are a couple possible ones:

The Acupuncture talent set, to shut down hard-hitting AOE mysteries before it hits your fragile guys:

Or, if you want to get a little odder, or truly embrace the MB-support role by turning him into a mini Mabui...

Notice how you'll be able to pull off that Iaido no-cooldown thing on turn 1?

Anyway... now for the inevitable question.

Why would you ever use Ukon/Sakon?

To quote Outcast2.0: "Ukkon sakon, like jirobo and kidomaru, is *. i dont like him at all."

I can understand this to some extent. Sakon has low health and his moderate defense stat doesn't make up for it. His mystery doesn't start a combo or anything like that. But...

Here's something I noticed a couple months back.

"Can be triggered twice each round"

As far as I know, there are only two characters who can do this: Sakon, and Eight Gates Lee. Out of those, only Lee can activate 4 attacks because his mystery is prompt. On the other hand, Sakon's mystery is nonprompt, so he either does one attack and his mystery, or two attacks.

So is it possible to pull off four attacks for Sakon? Of course - using Killer Bee's Yo!

So why not 8-Gates Lee?

Eight Gates Lee doesn't shout "IKUZEEE!" whenever he attacks. xD

That's not the actual reason. If you look at 8Gates Lee's mystery, it deals light damage to 3 random enemies. Pair that with the Leech effect of the Lightning main and you get some random damage plus some healing.

Then there's Sakon's mystery. If you pull off Sakon's mystery with Leech, you attack the entire enemy team, lower defense, and leech a handful from every enemy hit. I've learned from experience that this is quite beneficial; I've seen it restore a barely-alive Sakon to half health in PVP. You might not get the same results all the time, your mileage might vary of course. But that's just what I've seen.

Basically, the leech from Sakon's mystery makes him somewhat self-sustainable. Not so much that we don't need to protect him, though - that's why he's behind everyone. That way, he can easily heal off any excess AOE mystery damage that gets dealt to your team, while gradually lowering the defense of the opponent and allowing your other guys to hit harder.

WEAKNESSES TO THIS TEAM

Okay, if Sakon dies, it isn't instant game over. You still have your Sage Naruto (he's practically game breaking, come on) and he can still deal nice damage. But without Sakon, you might have some issues and the team might not work as well.

In addition, since this is partially a standard attack-based formation, characters such as Hinata could give our Sakon some trouble. However, what's interesting to note is that Sakon's extra attacks ignore things like taunts and Hinata's mystery. Plus you have Sage Naruto to counter that, so that might not be that troublesome... maybe. I dunno.

Then there's the issue of a specific little debuff: ignite. Ignite could downright screw Sakon over, especially if his health is low. This means he can't leech - making his mystery fairly less useful - plus, he has to wait a little bit to heal again, which is dangerous since he's already going to take damage next turn from ignite.

Of course, you might just get unlucky with your formation placement. You might end up facing a Torune Aburame-GNW Shino team that fills the entire top row with clones and leeches, so Sakon is spending the entire time punching at leeches while his teammates get peppered away. If something like that happens... abandon plans. Go meta and use Yo on whoever you put in the middle row...

That's all I've got for now. Thanks for reading, and please leave critique!

I don't know why I enjoyed that quote so much.

Overall, it's definitely an interesting team. I'm a little worried about the mysteries though. Maybe running Chidori Blade would be better?

What's the problem with the mysteries?

Are there too few combo-starting mysteries? (being either one or two, depending on what your LM is)

I think that problem's somewhat solved with Sage Naruto's standard though... but I'm not exactly sure. If that's what you're talking about, then good eye there. I hadn't thought about that.
