There's something else at work, due to extreme outlier situations I've observed.

In a lvl 73 - 77 sage field, with players of 25k - 35k power... a single lvl 84 with 46k power ended up in the field. He went on a 24 streak rampage in this sage. Clearly, there are plenty of players between lvl 77 and 84, yet they did not end up there.

In a mostly level 50 sage field, with players of 6k - 12k power. My lvl 75 with 35k power had been sent to that field, along with 5 other lvl 75 players. There are zero players between lvl 55 and lvl 75. I am pretty sure there are plenty of players out there between lvl 55 and 75....
