They're fun trick ninjas to play with in Arena, but unless you spend some real time pulling from the Edo Tensei treasure, they just won't be as effective as a Kage Rare. That said, you DO get rares every 30 or 40 pulls, I believe, so if you're looking to spend the money in an attempt to make them "meta-material," that's the only real benefit.
