1. The AI always select the enemy with the lowest hp. If your main attacked his earth main is because in that specific moment he was the ninja with the lowest hp. Same for your enemy moves. They attacked the ninja among yours with the lowest hp at the moment in which they attacked.

2. Self barrier ninja cast the barrier after the enemy only if your total initiative is higher than the enemy. You can have 1000 initiatives on your gaara or mei and still get the barrier up later if your other 3 ninjas have an higher initiative than the enemy if summed together.

4. Read more carefully hinata mystery. She has to be in the front row, doesn't matter if in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. This means if you run a setup like this (an expendable team i use in matsuri that works very nicely)

your hinata mystery is second prompt move but you can still use the mystery and make all the standard attacks focused on her because she is in front row (so kisame can steal chakra and also avoided by enemies.
