[ Help ] What do different character portraits mean?

I know that character portraits change color as you awaken a ninja, from green, to blue, to purple, to gold, to red.... but here's the question...

There are different kinds of gold/yellow character portraits. Some are just gold, some are gold with little squares in the corner, and some are gold with squares and green circles inside the squares...

What is the difference?

EDIT - I'm talking about when you go to ranked battle or space time and things like that and you have character portraits inside little colored squares in the top left This post was last edited by 101***@facebook at 2017-4-28 20:47

It depends on awakening level. Like for example: The character is yellow,but there is +1 next to his/her name. It shows how high the awakening is. To upgrade it to yellow +2,you need materials which you get through plot instances

Those are the level of awakening. Within the Gold awaken, there's the +1, +2, etc. Each time you awaken them, the design of their portrait changes a little with those added designs at the corners that you noticed.

ther are more types of gold, when you upgrade ninja gold +1 +2 +3...that make chenges in croner

At level 82, you can upgrade gold +4 to red.
